We met Cori in 2020, when she was working with the Idaho Humane Society as a volunteer foster parent. I doubt that many people could handle the task of fostering 12 puppies and their mama, but she did it exceptionally well, going above and way beyond the call of duty. When we met Cori, the foster puppies had been with her for three weeks and were about six weeks old. Most of the pups already knew how to sit and to make great eye contact, thanks to her attentive care and training. We interacted with the puppies over the next couple of weeks, and watched how Cori cared for them. We were impressed by her knowledge of early puppyhood and her dedication to give the puppies the best start in life that she could. We saw how she carefully socialized the puppies – exposing them to numerous sights, sounds, and experiences, and frequently cuddling and holding them. When the pups were eight weeks old, we adopted one of them, knowing that he had been well cared for and had been given a valuable gift of love, attention, and training that would serve him and us well, for years to come. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to adopt one of Cori’s foster puppies, and we are grateful for her knowledge, hard work, and big heart.
